Stage 1 – Do your research

At Harbour Creek Motorhomes, we make sure our rates are all inclusive when you rent a Motorhome or Campervan from us. Everything is pre-arranged for your adventure, be it a holiday by the beach, a touring Motorhome hire in Europe, a sports event, festival motorhome hire or just taking in the scenery, everything we think you will want is included. You only need to bring your food, drink, toiletries and bedding (or even hire the bedding too!) to enjoy a perfect holiday!

Stage 2 – Make a Booking

We try and make it easy to reserve your next Motorhome hire holiday, so you can call our call centre and book you motorhome rental with our agents. We will guide you through the whole process.

When you reserve a motorhome with us, we will contact you back to finalise arrangements later on. We need to check on delivery or collection times and answer any questions you may have. By making an early reservation, you have guaranteed the vehicle for your dates and at the price displayed, we just confirm final arrangements nearer the time.

Of course, feel free to call in to us and make your reservation with us, come and have a look round!

Stage 3 – Final Arrangements

Balances are due on your rental a minimum of 3 weeks before the start date, unless alternative arrangements have been made. VIP club members qualify for discounts on every motorhome or campervan hire.

At this time we like to confirm all the arrangements and check over delivery and collection times.

Stage 4 – On the Day

When you collect the vehicle from us, we will have it all ready to go at the agreed time (usually between 12pm and 4pm, but arranged with you). You will need to arrive with approx 1 hour to spare, to allow us to show you round your new motorhome.

We have provided a secure car park area for you to leave your car or van, covered by CCTV. We have our own check out area, allowing you to transfer you belongings straight into the motorhome.

Please bring the following paperwork with you when you pick up your motorhome. We cannot accept copies – please bring the original documents.

Full driver’s licence (including paper counterpart) for each driver
2 forms of identification – this could be a credit card and passport, or a recent utility bill with your name and address, dated within the last 3 months
If you are unsure about any of these items, please call us before arrival.

Stage 5 – On your holiday

We operate a 24 hour helpline should you get into any difficulties operating your Motorhome hire or Campervan rental. We supply each vehicle with a very comprehensive operation manual, showing how to operate everything.

When you return you Motorhome hire or Camper Van rental back to us, we need to check you in.  We ask you to arrive back with us 4 hours earlier in the final day or hire than you picked up, so if you had collected at 2pm, your return time would be 10am.This is a reverse of the check out process and can take up to an hour. We have facilities for emptying water tanks on site, for customers use, so feel free to use them. Of course we would love to hear you stories and see pictures of your Motorhome holiday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Telephone 02392 461968. Upon booking your motorhome hire you will need to pay a non-refundable booking deposit of £150.00 per hire. The remaining balance will need to be paid 3 weeks before your start date. As insurance security you will also be asked to leave a refundable security deposit of £500 (£750 for non-UK licence holders) when you collect the motorhome. This acts as an insurance excess during your motorhome hire, and will be refunded provided that the motorhome is returned clean and undamaged as described in our terms and conditions.
Your motorhome hire will be available for collection from our depot on Hayling Island between 12.00 and 16.00 on the first day of your hire period. Weekly rentals can start any day of the week, subject to availability.

When you collect your motorhome it will be provided with a full tank of fuel, and you must ensure the tank is full when you return it.

The address of our depot is Mill Rythe Lane, Hayling Island, Hampshire. PO11 0QG

Yes – one car per hire can be stored free of charge at our secure depot.

The motorhome driver must be aged between 25 and 75 and must have held a full British driving licence for at least 2 years.
Additional drivers can be authorised to drive the motorhome for a small additional charge, as can holders of foreign licences.

If the driver has penalty points on his or her licence, please check with us before finalising your booking.

Yes, provided we are notified in advance so as to provide the additional insurance cover required. The standard insurance excess applies at £500 (£750 for non-UK licence holders).

The high driving position, well placed mirrors and power steering make modern motorhomes easy to drive.

Unlike when towing caravans, motorhomes in the UK are subject to the same speed limits as private cars unless they exceed 3500kg unladen weight. So the speed limit on motorways and dual carriageways is 70mph, and 60mph on single carriageways. For vehicles over 3500kg, the speed limit is 70mph on motorways, 60mph on dual carriageways and 50mph on single carriageway roads.

When parking you need to ensure that you have enough space around you to manoeuvre the motorhome easily. Make use of the well placed mirrors and try to avoid busy areas. The easiest places to park are large supermarkets and railway stations. These are well signposted, have easy access and are usually within walking distance of town centres. Watch out for height restrictions in car parks and avoid them unless they offer at least 10 foot of height.

Parking a motorhome in the centre of most big towns is difficult and best avoided. Because of their height, motorhomes cannot be parked in multi-storey car parks. Parking a motorhome in central London is virtually impossible, and there is also a congestion charge for vehicles entering the central area. We suggest that if you intend visiting London, park the motorhome on the outskirts and use public transport.

The driver and passengers must wear the seatbelts provided. Correct child restraints must be used for children under 3 at all times. Correct child restraints should also be used for children aged from 3 to 12 (or under 135cm in height) whether travelling in the front seats or the rear. If the correct child support is not available, these children must travel in a rear seat using an adult seatbelt.

We provide a range of crockery, cutlery and utensils for you to use along with a range of safety equipment. You will need to provide your own bedding such as pillows and sleeping bags, towels, washing up liquid and extra toilet rolls! Make sure you have taken out travel insurance to cover you in the event that you lose or damage any of your personal possessions. Please note, we can rent bedding sets starting at £20 per person if required.

In Britain and most areas of Europe it is forbidden to park a motorhome overnight on the roadside. Therefore it is best to pre-book a campsite pitch before you leave, particularly at busy times.

Our motorhomes are maintained in first class condition and are thoroughly checked and cleaned before collection. In the unlikely event that you do experience a problem, all of our motorhomes are fully covered by Roadside Assistance.

The motorhome must be returned between 08.00 and 12.00 at the end of the hire period to ensure the motorhome is available for the next booking.

Failing to return the motorhome will incur a charge. There are no refunds for early return.
The motorhome must be returned in a clean and tidy condition, with a full tank of fuel and an empty waste tank.

If you would like to rent a motorhome or campervan please find links on the left to the campervans and motorhomes we have available to hire.

Return: The vehicle must be returned on the date, and before the time stated, on the rental agreement. Vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition as they left the depot, otherwise a charge will be made for excessive Valeting and or Upholstery cleaning. In the case of gross negligence ABC Marine reserves the right to recover full costs in order to return the motorhome to the state in which it was handed over. In addition a separate toilet cleaning fee of £50.00 each will apply if the toilet waste tank and grey water is not empty on return.

Late return: If you will be late returning, ABC Marine must be advised immediately. Failure to advise may result in prosecution for driving whilst uninsured. An additional charge of £25.00 per hour will be payable for all late returns, late return exceeding 2 hours incurs the ratecard daily charge. The hirer will also be responsible for any direct costs attributable to their late return, eg lost hire for the next hirer.

9. Delivery and Return of the Vehicle

a) I acknowledge having received the Vehicle in a clean condition and in sound working order in accordance with the Motorhome Handover Checklist and with a full Diesel tank, one full LPG gas bottle and full water tank (if requested).

b) I will return the vehicle in a clean condition with a full Diesel tank, one full LPG gas bottle on the return date and time set out under the Rental Agreement.

c) I acknowledge that ABC Marine will not refund to me any monies, nor have any obligation to provide a replacement vehicle, if the Vehicle is returned or I cease to have use of the Vehicle or an item of equipment on the vehicle prior to the return date for any reason e.g. Accident, weather, theft, operator error or damage.

10. Passengers

ABC Marine authorises the use of these vehicles up to the stated number of passengers. Each person is to use the safety restraints provided at all times whilst the vehicle is in motion. Child seats are available (fees applicable) and it is the responsibility of the hirer to fit them themselves. Children up to 12 years of age or 135cm in height, which ever they reach first, must use the correct child restraints appropriate for their weight under UK law.

11. Pets

I will not allow any animals to be carried in the Vehicle, unless the vehicle is a nominated ‘pet friendly’ vehicle. Allowing pets in a none pet friendly motorhome will result in considerable reinstatement cost.

12. Insurance

(provided all the personal information supplied is correct)

The Vehicle is insured for damage to the Vehicle and the property of a third party; but does not include any personal insurance for the customer (including death or bodily injury to the driver) or cover any personal possessions. The vehicle insurance is provided by LV Ltd. The hire rate quoted includes a standard excess of £500.00 per incident whilst in the UK and £750 whilst in Europe for UK licence holders. An addititional excess is applied of £250 for non UK licence holders and for festivals and sports events. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first excess. The hirer will also be fully liable for all overhead damage, any damaged deemed as gross negligence and replacement or repair of windows and windscreens or tyre damage.

13. Excess Reduction (CDW)

Our UK excess reduction costs £7.50 per day will reduce the £500.00 excess per incident for damage caused due to a collision (i.e. reported accident) to either the vehicle or third party property to £250.00. We also offer excess reduction for European use, reducing the excess from £750.00 to £250.00 per incident for £10.00 per day. The hirer will however be fully liable for any Overhead damage, replacement or repair to windows and windscreen, tyre damage or damage costs caused through gross negligence. Excess applies in respect of each incident and or claim, not each Rental. If CDW is taken, it must be for the whole rental. Should the Terms and Conditions not be adhered to, the CDW will be void and the customer will be liable in full for all costs and damages. Please note that the CDW is completely optional and can be decided upon collection of your vehicle. After the hire has commenced, CDW cannot be taken out. Excess reduction cannot be taken by non UK licence holders or when the vehicle is attending a festival or sporting event.

14. Overhead Damage

All drivers must be aware of the (unusual) height of the motorhome and are responsible for all damage if driven under an obstruction that is too low for it to clear – the obvious examples are low bridges and height restrictions into car parks etc. In this event neither the Basic Insurance nor Collision Damage Waiver will apply and the hirer will be responsible for the repair of all damages. Overhead damage is deemed as any damage to any part of the vehicle which occurs above 6 feet (1.83 metres) and or any third party property.

15. Security Deposit

There is a refundable £500.00 Security Deposit payable by credit card or debit card, the amount will be debited from your account immediately. This is fully refundable within seven days of return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as it was let out, with the toilet and grey water tank empty, the interior clean including all cooking appliances and the fuel tank and LPG tank full. ABC Marine reserves the right to increase the security deposit for specific events e.g. Major football events and Festivals to £1000.00.

a) On taking delivery of the Vehicle, I agree to pay the Security Deposit.

b) I irrevocably authorise ABC Marine to deduct from the Security Deposit any amounts due by me to ABC Marine Limited arising out of this Agreement.

c) The security deposit will be refunded within 7 working days of the vehicle being returned to the correct location, undamaged, with a clean interior with a full fuel tank and full LPG cylinder. We reserve the right to retain a cleaning fee if the motorhome is not returned with the interior in a clean condition. Also the toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle or an additional £50.00 soiling fee will be retained for each tank remaining full upon return.

d) Should any damages exceed the security deposit the customer will be responsible to settle all additional costs over and above the security deposit value within 7 days of your hire end date. Note: Where the hirer has opted for the CDW option, the lower excess will be charged in the event of a collision, but they should be aware that the £500 security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage what so ever to equipment, fixtures and fittings, windows, tyres or negligent damage to the vehicle. Should these damages exceed £500 the customer will be liable for the total cost and the difference will need to be settled within seven days of returning the Motorhome.

16. European Travel
