Harbour Creek are delighted to announce a new model range to complement their existing ranges.
Wellhouse is a British manufacturer offering a modern interior finish to a very high standard on this Wellshouse LUX XL.
It’s a high-top with a roomy floor plan that offers a huge amount of space from a relatively small footprint, you could say that Wellhouse Leisure has moved on to bigger things since its Terrier won the Best Rising-Roof Camper at Motorhome of the Year Awards in 2014.
The original Terrier has spawned a handful of stable mates – long-wheelbase, Sport and the positively outrageous V-Sport variants – as well as this, the Lux-Xl.
Positively two-berth, this is a high-top with a roomy floor plan that offers a separate toilet, shower and kitchen areas. You can thank the unique layout with rear settee for that, and the fact that the kitchen wraps around the rear, with a toilet room in the offside corner.
Imagine being able to relax in comfort on the large rear sideways settee, with the sliding door open offering a uncluttered open view of your chosen surroundings, be it the Beach, Mountains, Countryside or even just a tranquil campsite, very few Camper Vans or even Motorhomes can offer this luxury.
The starting point is Ford’s Transit Custom Kombi – the long-wheelbase
Latest versions offer Euro 6 130PS (128bhp) or 170PS (168bhp) engines mated to six-speed manual gearboxes as standard, but with the Select Shift automatic transmission also being available.
very latest L2 H2 Transit Custom Kombi featuring the new front-end design and an all-new cab interior plus Ford’s latest driver assistance technologies, this includes the new ‘floating’, tablet-inspired eight-inch colour touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC3 communications and entertainment system as standard. (overall length 5.34m, compared to the standard 4.97m), high-roof but not too high – more car-like similar to the standard Custom version.
The cab is well equipped with heated front seats, with twin armrests, which swivel to face the living area when camping; heated windscreen; heated and powered, folding door mirrors, dimmable reading lights with integrated USB sockets cab air-conditioning; cruise control; DAB radio with multi-function display; electric windows; front and rear parking sensors; rear privacy glass and 16 inch alloy wheels.
Beyond that open lounge, the kitchen unit is angled at its leading edge, enhancing the feeling of space. There are useful 230V and 12V sockets in the former and in the kitchen.
You get a generous amount of worktop either side of the sink, a Smev two-burner hob set across the back and a Dometic extractor above.Under the hob is a Waeco 40-litre compressor fridge it’s above a floor locker, making it easier to access and offering yet more useful storage space beneath.
The double bed size in this Wellhouse Leisure motorhome starts at reasonable 1.60m x 1.26m, but you can extend the swivelled cab seats to 2.01m – the front squabs can be set flat and level.
Adjacent to the end kitchen, the toilet room has a Dometic swivel-bowl loo, with cassette access via the back door. Storage is provided in an overhead locker.
The high standard specification includes: Eberspacher 2.2kw blown-air heating, 40-litre Dometic compressor fridge, electric step, Dometic cassete flushing toilet, LED interior lighting, 40-litre fresh water and waste water tanks, lined curtains to living area, 240v and 12v power sockets, a 25m mains hook-up cable, a two-ring SMEV hob and sink unit with glass lid.
There’s a real heavy-duty edging to the furniture, for example. The locker doors all have positive catches, which are easy to operate. The upholstery is of motorhome style and quality with the front Captain seats upholstered to complement the rear sideways bench seat.
All curtains are elasticated blackouts, so no rattles when you’re driving. They save a lot of space, too.
Lighting is all LED, with the living area having five ceiling down lighters, bullet lights over each cab seat and a strip over the sink. A couple of reading lamps also added over the settee.
A Midi Heki overhead and twin sliding windows help with ventilation.
